Made in Canada: 5 Featured Office Chairs

Randy Andrews - Wednesday, February 06, 2019

Discover five chairs for your workplace that are proudly made in Canada.

As a Vancouver owned and operated business, we are proud of the Canadian-made products that we carry. From office chairs, to desks and workplace accessories, our storeroom is full of quality pieces of office furniture that have been made in Canada.

Today we are shining a light on a group of five office chairs that are all made in Canada, each ready to fit the different requirements of your workplace. The below seating solutions range from lounge chairs for your reception area, to versatile boardroom seating, to easy-to-store classroom chairs.

1. Reception Seating

There can be a lot of pressure in choosing the right seating solution for your reception or waiting room area. After all, it is the first space within your office that guests or clients will see when they come to visit.

Citi Square is our most popular reception seating line. It has a modern look and feel and can be ordered in multiple colours.

2. Guest Seating

When your guests visit your office, you want them to feel as comfortable as possible.

The Ergo Bex Mesh Guest Chair is an extremely well-built, ergonomic chair that is both comfortable and durable. Available in a trendy colour-blocked design of black and camel, this chair will help your guests feel right at home.

3. Boardroom Seating

Striking the right balance for the chairs in your boardroom can be tough. You want comfortable seating for those longer meetings, but perhaps you don't have the space for larger chairs.

The Loover is a great compromise between comfort and space. It is the first chair to feature the Weight Sensing Synchro-Tilter, which requires no tilt tension adjustments, so it is always set right for everyone.

4. Ergonomic Seating

If you're experiencing pain or discomfort due to an uncomfortable desk chair, opting for an ergonomic solution can help you find the proper balance between fit and function

The Triumph is a fully adjustable ergonomic chair, complete with a multi-tilter functionality and excellent lumbar support. It is designed to help keep you comfortable even after many hours of use.

5. Classroom Seating

As one of Canada's most popular commercial grade stacking chairs, the Duet Stacking Chair is available with or without arms and in an array of colours. This line of chairs is very durable and has the convenience factor of being stackable for easy storage.

Alternative Workspaces

Get Creative with Impact Office!

It won’t be difficult to imagine a typical office: harsh florescent lighting, grey cubicle walls, the sounds of clicking keyboards and whirring copy machines and, not more than one or two people to be seen. Where is everyone? Well they are well hidden and tucked away in their cubicles, working hard for their company. While this scenario may work for some, others may find a need for a more creative alternative workspace to inspire their best work.

Here are some ideas on how you can furnish and create alternative workspaces in your office!

#1: Going Cubicle Free

Instead of typical, grey and secluded cubicles, try an open system of desks. “Hot desking” as it is commonly known, is an office desk design that keeps all the employees visually and physically connected, sharing desks and work spaces. This type of system will definitely encourage collaborative work. The Bridges II System is a wonderful example of how you can create a uniform office without the cubicles.

#2: Hot Desking

Hot design takes your cubicle free office plan one step further by not assigning desks to specific employees. Instead, the desks or worktops are there for who ever needs it and can be assigned to one or a team as required. Explore our desk systems or perhaps even our boardroom table selection! Who said those large tables had to be reserved for meetings only!

#3: Quiet Lounges

Now this kind of alternative space caters to your employees who would love to work from their couch. By providing quiet lounge areas, employees can choose a space that suits their creative needs in order to be their most productive and inspired. Perhaps a comfortable chair and coffee table will be just the thing for your employees who like to sit cross-legged on a sofa with their computer on their lap.

#4: Sitting or Standing

A subtle alternative workspace can be found in a desk. Try a height adjustable desk to give your staff the choice of working in either a sitting or standing position. Healthy employees is always a bonus!

#5: Indoor, Outdoor

When the weather is nice and the sun is shining, who really wants to be cooped up indoors. Motivation to work drops to a crawl as people longingly stare out the windows at the blue skies. If you have the option, provide an outdoor working space!
