Versatile Workstations

Little Goblins - Sunday, February 21, 2016

The ideal solution for a collaborative and productive office environment.

Enable your employees to thrive with flexible workstations that can adapt to the work style of each employee.

Within corporate business offices, it is fairly well known that not everyone will perform their best under the same circumstances. One employee may require a lot of stimulation and collaborative energy from their coworkers, while another may need zero noise and the opportunity to work things out in a quiet space. In a time when open concept, bullpen office spaces are the norm, what is the optimal way to address the work style and needs of each of your employees in order to allow them to thrive? Our team at Impact Office has a few great solutions for you.

Teaming Stations: Simple yet effective. Our Teaming Stations provide an open concept look and feel so that employees feel comfortable working together and collaborating, but with panels that allow individuals to have a personal workspace that feels private.

Workscape: These open concept desks allow for high energy collaboration while also offering privacy with versatile partitions for each desk.

Evolve: The Evolve workstations offer private workspaces but with an open vibe and feel, making it easy to collaborate with coworkers. It is also extremely flexible, with the option of adding on and making changes later.

Huddle: Huddle tables easily configure to assist with whatever your current need may be. In search of a large table for a big group meeting? No problem. Looking for a smaller table for two or three? Huddle can be set up to make that happen. How about an individual desk for solitary work? Huddle can take care of that too. For examples, view photos of various Huddle table configurations.

If you have concerns that these workstations may not offer enough privacy for your more introverted employees, our suggestion would be to provide a separate, quiet space within the office that employees can utilize. Learn more about How to Create a Balanced Workplace

5 Tips to Restore Office Productivity

Little Goblins - Friday, August 21, 2015

Five problems that may be contributing to a lower output of office productivity and the solutions that will help you solve them.

In the majority of offices across the world there are often many distractions that prevent employees from producing work at an optimal level. These distractions can range from mild problems to larger issues; everything from poor lighting at a person's desk, to severe bodily discomfort that an employee may be experiencing due to their workstation, can prevent a person from being their most productive self.

Below, you will find some of the most common problems office workers experience that often contribute to a lack of productivity, along with the simple solutions that can help you fix them. By implementing the below solutions, with any luck, your office should be producing its best work in no time!

PROBLEM #1:

Clutter and a lack of space can be a major distraction and contribute to a slower output of work.

SOLUTION #1:

Try clearing and organizing your desk first. If you find that there is still not enough space to lay out your daily work, consider upgrading your office's desks and cubicles to workstations and/or systems that have been designed for optimal workflow and ease of use.

PROBLEM #2:

Tired eyes caused by bad lighting.

SOLUTION #2:

If you have the ability to move your desk in your office, position your table by the window to take advantage of the natural light. If moving towards a window is not an option, or you find that you require more light, a correctly positioned desk lamp with a bright bulb is sure to help shine a light on this issue. (Pun intended!)

PROBLEM #3:

Have you noticed that you or your employees have issues sitting still throughout the work day? Many of us that work in an office environment feel the need to get up from our desks to escape the monotony of being seated for eight or more hours every day. What's more, office workers are now being encouraged to take breaks from sitting and stretch throughout the day for health reasons.

SOLUTION #3:

Height adjustable desks allow office workers the freedom to continue to work while standing, while also enabling the user to sit back down again, should they get tired of being on their feet.

PROBLEM #4:

Bodily aches and pains that result from poorly set up workstations, including neck, back and wrist pain.

SOLUTION #4:

Proper ergonomic solutions that address poor seating and workstation set ups. Solutions can range from ergonomic chairs, to keyboard trays and foot rests, to monitor arms that can be positioned to hold a monitor at the ideal height, distance and slant for each person.

PROBLEM #5:

Office paper work inefficiencies that lead to the same work being done more than once.

SOLUTION #5:

A proper filing system can prevent oversights in communication and multiple employees from completing the same work.

Coworking: A New Way to Work

Little Goblins - Thursday, March 26, 2015

Shared office spaces are becoming a popular option for entrepreneurs and small companies.

Shared office space is hardly a new idea. Traditionally, however, open concept, communal workstations have generally been in the form of cubicles and large work tables. They are spaces that are shared by employees, all of whom work for the same company, a company that typically owns the entire building or floor. These communal spaces are meant to increase workflow, creativity, and collaboration between coworkers all within the same corporation. Now, although these collaborative workstations still exist within most companies, "shared workspace" is taking on a whole new meaning. And, some might say, it's about time.

With the 50th anniversary of the cubicle occurring last year, a refreshed way to think about one's workspace is definitely needed. Coworking, an idea that has been gaining momentum over the past decade, enables entrepreneurs, small companies, and/or travelling business people to share a workspace with other people who are not affiliated with their company or work. It is a convenient, and much more affordable, way to rent out office space in the city. Most shared coworking spaces also offer renters access to boardrooms, kitchens and other facilities associated with traditional office spaces.

With such a large population of entrepreneurs in Vancouver, coworking is a great option to consider as an office space. Watch the below video to gain a better understanding of this emerging trend.

We know that shared workspaces need office furniture too. Should you require assistance in furnishing an office space for coworking purposes, we can help! Our team would be happy to help you find the best office furniture solutions for your office space.
