It’s about sustainability—the practice of using resources in ways that do not diminish or compromise the future generations of meeting their own needs—and ecological economics—treating the natural environment as part of the economy so that natural capital remains a part of economic calculations.


Why is it valuable to green your business? Aside from the fact that you will be making a difference for future generations and be supporting our natural world, going green can save you money, improve your public relations and even boost employee moral. It may seem hard to believe that investing in going green can actually save you money in the long run, but in time you can see big savings in your future financial statements!

Making changes to go green can be a big undertaking. 5 Tips on a Successful Office Relocation

Don’t stress! Discover 5 ways to alleviate stress when it comes to relocating your office.

Moving day is stressful. Period. No matter if you’re moving homes, home offices or an entire business, moving the furniture, personal décor and, most importantly, your work is a process that can be riddled with anxiety. Trust us, we’ve been there too.

So, how can you make the most of your move and lower the high level of stress that accompanies it? We’ve come up with some tips on how to make your move go as smoothly and stress-free as possible.

  1. Hire help: While attempting a move on your own may be tempting in order to save some money, the amount of time it will take you to pack up and move (not to mention the money you'll shell out to rent a moving van) will not be worth it. Hiring a moving team to help you move will take a lot of responsibility off of your plate and can make all the difference.

  2. Be flexible: Have a plan but try not to micromanage the entire move right from the get go. Things will change throughout the moving process and adjustments will have to be made in the moment – and that’s okay. Be prepared to be flexible. That said, don’t throw your plan out the window!

  3. Use the opportunity to upgrade: The time is now! Whether you’re moving your home office or your entire business, moving is a great time to dispose of your older desk, chairs and equipment and upgrade to that new model you’ve been eying. This also means you won’t have to lug your furniture from one location to the next. Win, win.

  4. Put someone in charge: Whether you take the reins on the relocation or you hand them over to a trusted employee or co-worker, having a leader will help things run more smoothly. This person will be the point of contact for your movers, etc.

  5. Label and back up files: Before the move begins, be sure that you have backed up your hard drive and have labeled hard copies. There’s nothing worse than facing multiple boxes of paper and having no idea what the contents are and where they go.
