Top Three Benefits of Plants in Your Office Space

Little Goblins - Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Plants in the office should not be overlooked when you are building a workspace…

Office design is essential to creating an atmosphere that inspires creativity and productivity. There’s no doubt about that. Smart design can also make the office a healthy space by incorporating height adjustable desks and ergonomic options to help your team produce their best, while minimizing the risk of injury and muscle strains.

One accessory that makes a huge difference, not only in creativity and productivity, but also in your employee’s health and work satisfaction is greenery.

Here are the top three benefits of having plants in your office:

1. Plants create a calm environment.

Plants and green features can help to reduce your team’s stress levels. It is not uncommon for people to feel more at ease in their surroundings when they are close to greenery. Studies have shown that people in environments that contain plants experience less stress, better focus and take fewer sick days.

Plants also look beautiful and contribute to a more positive visual perception of the space to both employees and clients.

2. Cleaner air.

Plants do what plants do best and that is purify the air. Plants can improve the air quality inside buildings and can also contribute to stabilizing the humidity levels. Greenery reduces the carbon dioxide levels, as well as certain pollutants and airborne dusts.

3. Reduced noise.

Plants in a space can affect the acoustics of a room, muffling sound and reducing noise. How? Greenery can reduce the reverberation time of sound and, when placed strategically (such as in concrete areas, wood floors or marble walls), plants can absorb the noise and minimize the distraction to your employees.

So there you have it! Don’t forget to bring nature into your office, especially now that the weather is changing!

Green Your Business

Little Goblins - Friday, June 14, 2013

It’s time to go green and we can help.

Let us help you make a positive impact on the environment!

What better way to move your business forward than by making the effort to go green! What does it mean to “go green?” Why is it valuable? Where do you begin?

To “go green” means that you or your company is making the effort to make personal and business decisions that will minimally impact our environment. It’s about sustainability—the practice of using resources in ways that do not diminish or compromise the future generations of meeting their own needs—and ecological economics—treating the natural environment as part of the economy so that natural capital remains a part of economic calculations.

Why is it valuable to green your business? Aside from the fact that you will be making a difference for future generations and be supporting our natural world, going green can save you money, improve your public relations and even boost employee moral. It may seem hard to believe that investing in going green can actually save you money in the long run, but in time you can see big savings in your future financial statements!

Making changes to go green can be a big undertaking. There are so many areas that one could focus on, such as energy efficiency, recycling and waste reduction, water conservation, and toxics and pollution prevention, to name a few. If that sounds overwhelming, we have three tips that will help you get started: reduce, reuse and recycle!

Whether it’s going digital, using energy efficient light bulbs or placing blue bins all over the place, these three R’s can be applied to any aspect of your business and can be the simplest way to get that green ball rolling. And we’ve got you covered for all three R’s!

Reduce your costs by reusing recycled and refurbished office furniture! All items in our used and pre-owned furniture showroom are in excellent condition and sold at prices designed to save you money. Together we can make a difference; even it’s a small one. Every effort counts!
